Edmunds Beļskis, Director of Communications Department, Ministry of Transport
Since 2010 Mr. Edmunds Beļskis holds the position of the Director of Communications Department at the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Latvia. Mr Beļskis carries the responsibility for development of electronic communications and postal sector policy and regulatory framework as well as cooperation with stakeholders and public authorities of both sectors. Mr. Beļskis represents the Ministry of Transport in various institutions of the European Union and international organisations.
From 2000 to 2010 Mr Beļskis has worked as director of the Institute of Personnel Certification (2000 – 2003), as director of the Latvian National Accreditation Bureau (2003 – 2008) and as director of Entrepreneurship Competitiveness Department of the Ministry of Economics of the Republic of Latvia (2008 – 2010).
Mr Belskis has participated in several international projects, e.g. Phare Latvian National Quality Assurance project (2002 - 2003), Project EuropeAid (2004, Ukraine), TACIS/2007/139531 – „Georgian - European Policy and Justice Support Centre, Phase IV” (2008, Georgia).
